My first ever knitting project

I start knitting my 1st scarf specially-made for my mum
on 6th march 2010 and get it done within a month.

For this scarf, I'm using:

• 5 yarns 100% cotton - Baumwolle - Brand: Gondola

85m/mt - 93 yds
Cold handwash
x wring
dry flat shade,
x bleach, warn iron,
dry cleanable,
x tumble dry.

• 7 mm single pointed needle

1. Double the yarns..cast on 18 stitches..and knit for 17 rows ( i donno why i chose 17.. anyway, it looked nice to me) hehe

2. Row 18: start 3 knits & 3 purls (end with purl).
Repeat knitting & purling until reaching half of the second yarn.
Reason: I wanna it to be shrink in the middle of the scarf so that it won't look like
a big clump cuddling my mum's neck then. Plus it made the scarf thicker.

3. Start knitting 17 rows again so that the final end will be the same as the earlier end.

4. Lastly, i made "rambu ramba" (dis is what malays call) [4" long]
as it made the scarf look longer.

So here is my first knitting project.. Final length : 236 cm (including the rambu ramba tinge)
